Description:

Sharpless 2-24 in Ophiuchus is a small molecular cloud in Ophiuchus shaped like the state of California which is very seldom imaged due to its extreme faintness. A yellow brown hue from all of the carbon and silicate dust makes it blend right in to the nearly overpowering sky glow from nearby towns. Technical Data: 10" f/3.9 Newtonian astrograph, Atik 16200 CCD, LRGB = 2 hours total, Payson, Az.
