Description:

05 Feb 2023 After lots of polluted air days in the capital of Iran, I had the chance to capture the full moon, Venus belt, and snow-capped mountains surrounding this big city in a fresh air evening. Shahyad Tower, which was later renamed Azadi Tower (Freedom), is a visual icon of Tehran, the capital of Iran, was Built in 1971 in commemoration of the 2500th anniversary of the Persian Empire. this "Gateway into Iran" was named the Shahyad Tower, meaning "Kings' Memorial", Designed by Hossein Amanat it ingeniously combines modern architecture with traditional Iranian influences most notably the iwan-style of the arch which is clad in 8000 pieces of white marble. A lot of elements are used in Shahyad Tower architecture, with concepts such as a wind-catcher at the top of the tower for aesthetics and ventilation, a traditional Iranian market in the underpass of the tower, water, and fountains in the Persian garden, a Zoroastrian monument called Chartaqi to keep the fire alive. and to guide caravans, the arch evokes the Sassanian and Islamic architecture and the traditional turquoise mosaic tiling in the geometric execution of the arch recalls the concept of heaven and sky in the viewer's mind.
