Description:

The Soap Bubble Nebula is a planetary nebula formed by a dying star in the constellation Cygnus. Amateur astronomer Dave Jurasevich discovered the nebula in 2008 in his wide field image of the area. Sky and Telescope magazine featured an article on his discovery in the July 2010 issue, including the process that he followed for reporting and receiving acknowledgement for the finding. The Soap Bubble Nebula is officially designated as Ju 1 (Jurasevich 1) or PN G75.5+1.7.
