A circa-1965 3.5-inch Questar Quartz Standard Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope with the off-axis solar filter and a Samsung S8 Smartphone camera afocally mounted to a 25mm Televue Plössl eyepiece.
Description:
This was one of a sequence of images made as the eclipse progressed, when an airliner further eclipsed the Sun along with the Moon about a half hour after the maximum coverage of 88% of the Sun by the Moon in the Washington, DC area. Post processing was accomplished using Adobe CS5 and Luminar Neo.
