Description:
High clouds produced a solar halo before the April 8 total solar eclipse, an unexpected extra. At the time of the photo, a jet had added its contrail. As the eclipse progressed, it was not surprising the sun was too bright for photographs to show its crescent shape and the halo at the same time. Despite the clouds, we were afforded an excellent view at totality of the prominences and inner corona.
