Description:

The center of our Milky Way galaxy is just above the Sagittarius teapot asterism. This image was taken at the Bryce Canyon Astronomy Festival star party on Thursday night. The Astonomical League was having its annual convention; it was hosted by the Salt Lake Astronomical Society. Conditions were ideal: almost 8000 ft of altitude, clear weather, one of the darkest locations in the continuental U.S., and over 50 telescopes available for public viewing.
