Description:

200 frames. North is up. East is to the Right. From center north to south are Aristoteles, Eudoxus, Caucasus Mountains (19,000 ft.), Theaetetus, and Theaetetus Rille (I,II,III). To the west of center, the lengthy shadows of the Caucasus point toward Cassini, and still farther west, Mt. Piton rises 7,500 ft. from shadow into the sunrise. (The namesake of Mt. Piton is on Tenerife in the Canary Islands,.) Just west of lower center is the illuminated eastern rim of Aristillus rising 9,000 ft. above the surrounding Mare. East of Eudoxus are Lacus Mortis and the Burg Rille. The northeast corner of the image is a portion of Mare Frigoris.
