Description:

Over the course of a year, I photographed sunsets from the balcony of my home in Bursa, capturing the movement of the sun along the western horizon. These photographs illustrate the changes in the sunset's position and the passage of time, offering a unique perspective on nature's rhythms. Each sunset highlights the seasonal shifts and the varying angles of the sun as it sets. From March 20 to September 22, the sun sets at true west (270 degrees). However, on June 20 (the summer solstice), the sunset point shifts to the northwest (302 degrees), and on December 21 (the winter solstice), it moves further southwest (239 degrees). This shift in direction is a result of the sun's seasonal movement, creating different sunset angles each month.
