106mm f/6.7 Astro Tech refractor on a Televue Gibraltar mount, and 2X Barlow, with a Nikon D-300 camera. Baader film solar filter in front of objective.

I went out to photograph the large sunspot reported on the sun's face today, using white light. After I was done, I wondered how big the sunspot was - was it as large as the Earth? So I went back in my files and found an image I made of the 2004 Transit of Venus. I scaled both images for the same diameter of the Sun's disk, and put them side by side.
