Description:

Last night's full Hunter's Super Moon, from our backyard in Alpine. It’s the closest and brightest super moon of 2025, and the 2nd of four super moons in a row. That’s because this November 2025 moon’s perigee, or closest point to Earth for this month, falls about 9 hours after the crest of the moon’s full phase. You won’t notice the moon looking any bigger in the sky, but you will notice it’s brighter! And it’ll have a strong pull on earthly tides. The Hunter’s Moon is characterized by a shorter-than-usual time between successive moonrises for several nights in a row, around the night of the full moon, so Northern Hemisphere dwellers will see full-looking moons in twilight skies, ascending in the east as the sun sets in the west, for several nights.
