Description:
May 2021 “Super Moon”. Taken from the top of GE building at Hidd overlooking the “Khalifa bin Salman port”, Kingdom of Bahrain, Arabian Gulf. The Moon was at the nearest approach to Earth and therefore the closest and largest Full Moon or “Supermoon” of 2021. Appearing larger & brighter, it is just 157 kilometres closer to Earth than April’s supermoon. Making the spectacle even more unusual is that it coincides with a total lunar eclipse for the first time in nearly two and a half years -but unfortunately was not visible in the middle east. The haziness on the horizon made the moon a bit darker than normal.
