Supernova 2019np is a Type IA supernova discovered -while still young- this year (hence the moniker) clearly visible in the upper left-hand quadrant of NGC 3254, a Hubble Type Sbc spiral galaxy in Leo Minor. Distance: 104.8 million light years, Absolute Magnitude: -20.94
