Homemade 8 inch f/4 reflector and webcam guider on Celestron CGEM mount. This discovery night photo was serendipitous, as I was testing a new SBIG ST-8300C camera purchased at the RTMC expo.
Description:
The Supernova in M51 was discovered May 31, and news was not disseminated when photo was taken.
