The Cat's Eye Nebula is a planetary nebula ((NGC 6543) about 3,300 light-years away. The central part of the nebula consists of a star with a temperature of about 78,000 C°, 10,000 times brighter than our Sun, while the outer halo is formed by the matter expelled from the central star during the terminal phase of its existence .
