Description:

The Cocoon Nebula, catalogued IC 1546, is a newly developing cluster of stars within a colorful hydrogen gas emission nebula. It's nearly 15 light-years wide and 4,000 light years away in the constellation Cygnus the Swan. The image was processed in Foraxx Palette from 3 nights of data collected this past week with my "big" scope (210 mm aperture, 1960 mm focal length reflector) using Hydrogen alpha and Oxygen iii narrow band filters.
