Description:

The Mineral Moon technique highlights the composition of the lunar soil. Dark blue: indicates areas rich in titanium. Orange and red: indicate regions poor in titanium but rich in iron and magnesium. These hues are typical of older basalts and areas where volcanic material has been exposed for a long time. Light blue or sky blue: often represents dust and debris expelled by recent meteorite impacts (within the last two billion years), which brought lighter, more reflective materials to the surface. White and light gray: characterize the lunar highlands, composed primarily of anorthosite, a rock rich in plagioclase feldspar (aluminum and calcium). The photo is the result of a mosaic of 7 files taken from 7 videos
