I am waiting next to the Chitgar lake western Tehran, for the waning Gibbous Moon to rise. It is going to have a conjunction by Milad tower. I will capture the scene with my telescope from 15km away. The height of Milad tower is 435m. Now on the 13th of August 2014, the moon has just passed its perigee and is 361000km away. I'm wondering how Man's colony has altered the face of Earth. How human could make the civilizations and build such vast cities. Now Tehran with the population of nearly 13 million is heavily polluted. Minutes and seconds are passing. The barren moon is rising from beyond the haze of civilization…
