Date/Time of photo:

August 21st, 2017 / From 5:45 AM to 12:00 PM

Equipment:

An empty can of coffee and Ilford - Harman Direct Positive Photographic Paper. The can was setup on top of the car with a 41deg up-tilt looking to the East. The paper was later developed and scanned.

Description:

As many eclipse chasers, I also took the classic pictures: partial phases, diamond ring, prominences, corona shots, etc. But, I also set this basic pinhole camera to capture the event, continuously from sunrise to noon. The lower part of the sun trace captured the early clouds. The eclipse is clearly visible in the upper part of the sun trace (C2 happened at ~10:19:33 PST). So, this picture represents the event (continuously) for more than 6 hours in a single image - Like in the old times. I reduced the resolution of the scanned photographic paper to fit the required 150KB. I can provide a higher resolution image, if needed. Thanks for your consideration.
