Description:
This image reveals the star-forming core region of the Orion Nebula (Messier 42). The Trapezium Cluster, a young open star cluster, is visible in the center of the image. The stars in the Trapezium are no greater than 300,000 years old. I used short exposures (268 x 10 seconds each) to capture as much detail as possible and not overexpose the core. Total integration time was 44 minutes, 40 seconds.
