Description:
Our cosmic neighborhood in 3D: the prominent Aldebaran Star is 65 ly away, followed by the Hyades at a 153 ly distance, both in front of the Taurus Molecular Cloud (TMC) lying 520 ly away. The Hyades are the closest open cluster to Earth while the TMC is hosting the closest star formation areas like Sh2-238 ans Sh2-239 visible in the upper part of the picture.
