Description:

The Iris Nebula ( NGC 7023) is a very bright reflection Nebula in the constellation Cepheus. The designation NGC 7023 actually refers to the star cluster within the nebula. The nebula gets its glowing blue appearance thanks to a bright star (SAO 19158) at it's center , which lights up the surrounding gas and dust. I took this image from my roll of roof observatory with my C8 telescope and 4 minute subs with 6 hours of total time.
