Description:

A little before midnight, the 28th of August, from our campsite at Mount San Jacinto State Park (Idyllwild CA), the milky way was in full view. This image is a 6 minute exposure through a 14 mm wide angle lens at F5, ISO 3200. The camera is moving with the stars thanks to an equatorial mount (Ioptron SkyGuiderPro), which is why the sky remains in focus while the trees blur. The constellation is Sagittarius, and, with imagination you can make out the "teapot" that is generating the steam that is the milky way.
