Description:

The Rosette nebula in Monoceros is at the very center of this busy field, with the composition planned to capture the huge "Monoceros Loop" just to its upper left. This SNR, also known as SNR G205.5+0.5 is rarely imaged due to its faintness and huge size. Just below the Rosette is Sharpless 2-280, and several sparkling star clusters decorate this field as well. To achive this level of sharpness with this lens, you must do two things. First, stop down half a stop to f/2.4. Then add a UV/IR blocking filter to clean up the out of focus UV. Technical Data: Samyang 135mm f/2, ASI2600mm + IDAS NBZ filter 1 hour total, Happy Jack, Az.
