Description:
A composite of 6 images of the occultation of Antares by the Moon. On the left is 3 images of the beginning of the occultation and on the right are three images of Antares emerging from behind the Moon. The Sun was still up as the occultation began and an infrared filter was used to enhance contrast. It seemed to take 1/3 of a second for Antares to completely disappear which was likely due to the significant scintillation at the time.
