Description:

The Soul Nebula or IC1848, is an emission nebula located in the constellation Cassiopea. It is about 100 light years across and has estimated age of 1 million years. Stars are forming in the Soul of the Queen of Aethopia. More specifically, a larger forming region called the soul nebula. It contains several small open stars cluster. IC 1848 is embedded int he body of the nebula while cluster CR 34, 632 can be see in the head. Small emission IC 1871,670 and 669 are located just next to the Soul Nebula. Its a celestial neighbor the Heart Nebula (IC1805) The image appear mostly red due to emission of specific color of light emitted by excited hydrogen gas.
