Description:
The Southern Pleiades (also known as Theta Carinae Cluster, IC 2602, or C 102) is a bright and conspicuous open star cluster located in the constellation of Carina, on the southern edge of the southern Milky Way. Its name derives from its appearance and great luminosity, which makes it similar to the well-known northern Pleiades cluster.
