Description:

The Spaghetti Nebula - Simeis 147 or SH2- 240. This emission nebula straddles the region between Auriga and Taurus. SH2-240 is believed to be about 3000 light years distant. Due to its large size and being extremely faint, this target is challenging to photograph. I captured the image using my Rokinon 135mm lens and ASI1600 mm Pro monochrome camera. This provided a wide field of view and fast imaging, while minimizing the effects of light pollution in my Bortle 8 skies. The image consists of about 12 hours of data, with 4 hours of Ha, OIII and SII and was processed in the Hubble palette. Image processing was done using Astropixel Processor, Pixinsight and Photoshop.
