More and more satellites are orbiting the earth, which leads to considerable interference with astronomical observations. If the satellites cross the field of view during exposure, they appear as trails in the image. This light pollution from satellites has already increased considerably in recent years. But this is just the beginning, as only a small proportion of all satellites to be launched as part of the planned mega-constellations (such as Starlink) are currently orbiting the Earth.
