Description:
SNR G304.4-3.1 is a faint shell type supernova remnant in the Musca constellation of the Theta Muscae multiple star system approximately 7400 light years away from earth. The bright blue star central to this nebula is theta Muscae, a very bright wolf rayet star. These are stars nearing the end of their life, and are commonly associated with beautiful nebulae, like the crescent nebula or Thor’s helmet.
