SBIG STF8300m CCD camera (SBIG filters) and a 12.5” f/9 RCOS (operating at f/6 with an Astro-Physics CCDT-067 telecompressor) on a Paramount ME

Description:

The emission nebula NGC 2359, often called Thor's Helmet, is found in the constellation Canis Major. The emission is powered by a Wolf-Rayet star. The nebula is approximately 12,000 light-years away. Image was a total of 11 hours exposure.
