Description:

Thor's Helmet Nebula (NGC 2359) is a ring shaped emission nebula in the constellation Canis Major. It is named for its resemblance to the Norse god Thor's helmet, with a round shape and wing like structures. The nebula is about 13,000 light years from Earth and is about 30 light years across. I used a 120 mm APO Askar telescope with a 7 nm narrow band filter . I used a ZWO asi294 mc pro camera with 6 minute exposures in from my roll off roof observatory.
