Description:
Solar activity has been very high the last 24 hours. A large (X1.3) flare was produced yesterday, resulting in a strong radio blackout over the Pacific Ocean off the west coast of Mexico. The largest of the sunspot areas, AR3780 (arrow) contains 128 individual sunspots. Lots of suface flares are visible in this image, taken from our deck in Alpine a little after noon.
