Description:
The sun has been very active in the last 24 hours with no fewer than 96 visible sun spots in various regions (labelled in the photo). A large (M6.0) flare from region AR4300 triggered an R2 (moderate) radio blackout across the sunlit side of the Earth at 02:50 UTC (6:50 pm last evening, PST). A large flare (arrow) can be seen in this image, shot from our backyard this noon.
