I don't see any signs of either planet here. Since Mars was about 8 degrees west of the sun (to the right in this image) and Mercury was about 10.5 degrees to the southeast of the sun (left in this image) at the time of totality, neither would have fit in this approximately 3-degree wide frame anyway. Regulus is faintly visible near the left edge at the nominal 10 o'clock position from the sun.
