Description:
This is a composite image of the progress of the April 8, 2024, total solar eclipse. It begins with the sun just before C2 at 15 minutes before mid-totality (3:13 PM) and ends just after C3 at 15 minutes after mid-totality (3:43 PM) local time in Dunham, Quebec. The central image at totality was taken at 3:25 PM. All images in the composite were taken with a Canon 6D DSLR using a Canon 75-300mm lens at 300mm F5.6. A simple tripod was used (no tracking). I adjusted the image composition to place the sun in the upper left corner of the sensor at 3:13 PM and started shooting. The natural motion of the sun carried it across the sensor to form this line of images.
