Description:
This is an image of the total solar eclipse which occurred over the South Atlantic Ocean and Antarctica. It was taken through a window of a chartered 787 aircraft at third contact, which is the end of totality. Another chartered 787 can be seen to the left of the eclipse. The edge of the umbra (the Moon's shadow) can be seen on the clouds below.
