Description:

As dawn illuminated the skies over Tehran on Thursday, October 3rd, we concluded our final session dedicated to capturing the Tsuchinshan Atlas comet. In response to the challenges posed by light pollution in the urban environment, we ascended to a peak in the northwestern region of the city, as increased elevation is crucial for achieving a clearer horizon. With just 50 minutes remaining before sunrise, the comet began to emerge above the dense layer of atmospheric haze, predominantly visible in our images due to the interference from both natural and artificial lighting. Utilizing 29 consecutive exposures of 2.5 seconds each, our post-processing revealed a striking tail extending over 15 degrees, accentuating the comet’s ethereal beauty as it traversed the dawn sky.
