Description:

I finally smashed my previous record for a shot of the youngest moon, the attempt was made last Saturday morning with a clear blue sky right up to the edge of the Sun. My youngest moon before this was taken last year at 19 hours in age. This new image taken with the same setup is 11h 55m after new moon. New moon occurred for my location at 11:21pm Nov. 30th - the night before, and this shot was at 11:16am the next day. Its important to note that the time of new moon is specific to your location on the Earth. The moon was a scant 8 degrees from the Sun, and just half a degree over the "Danjon Limit" of 7.5 degrees where it should be impossible to see the moon.
