Description:

Venus and Jupiter were 1.5 degrees apart in Earth's morning dawn sky on 2025 August 13, one day after their closest conjunction. Several of Jupiter's Moons were easily visible even in the small 50mm f/5 Refractor used to take the image with an IMX462 camera. The yellowish glow around each planet was due to thin clouds being lit up by the planets reflecting sunlight. Jupiter's Moons Europa and Callisto were above the planet in this image and the Moon Io was below the planet. The image on the right was taken with an iphone.
