Description:

Tonight's waxing gibbous moon. Watch for the biggest, closest Super-Moon of the year on Wednesday, next week. It's being dubbed "the extra super duper full moon." On July 13, the moon will be at its closest point to Earth in 2022, at just 222,089 miles away, and will be shining brightly as the largest full-moon of the year, and it will be responsible for extremely low and high tides in the ocean in the days that follow. The image is a stack of 100 0.01-second exposures, processed in Pixinsight.
