Description:
This is the Western Veil Nebula in Cygnus, a part of a supernova remnant of a star that was 20 times the size of our sun that exploded between 10 and 20 thousand years ago. The bright red glow from the ionized hydrogen and the bright blue/green glow from the ionized oxygen make it a compelling astrophotography target often imaged this time of year.
