Gardner Camp
Gardner Camp
Gardner Camp is a not-for-profit, private foundation established by the generosity of the late John Willis “Jack” Gardner, II. Gardner Camp consists of approximately 330 acres of land located in the Mississippi River bottoms near the Village of Hull in Pike County, Illinois.
Our astronomy program is dedicated to teaching youth between the ages of 8-17 the dynamics of the night sky. We serve 8 rural school districts and youth organizations using our astronomy equipment which consists of an 8" Meade LX90, a 5.5" dia. LX85 Refractor and a Celestron NexStar Evolution 8 HD with StarSense. To teach the basic night sky observations, we use the StarLab digital projection system and dome. All of our programs are totally free to any student wanted to learn and experience the night sky at Gardner Camp.
