Observing POD

Get the wind protection of a dome without the need to motorize rotation with SkyShed Observatories’ new POD (starting at $1,495 plus shipping for the basic model).

Constructed of double-walled high-density polyethylene, the 7½-foot-wide POD is lightweight yet durable. It features a fully rotating dome that exposes the enclosed observer to 50% of the sky, including the zenith. The SkyShed POD is expandable with optional bays ($279) and requires minimal assembly. It’s available in a variety of colors, including glow-in-the-dark “neutron blue” or “ion green” at additional cost.
