Upcoming Astronomy Events

As a service to our community, Sky & Telescope lists astronomy-related events, including star parties, observatory public nights, astronomy talks, and more. Star parties offer dark skies and astronomical fellowship and often cater to families and feature special activities for kids. Public nights give the general public a chance to view the sky through large telescopes, and public talks are a great place to learn the fundamentals of the science and the craft.
You’ll also see online events offered here.
And if you’d like free copies of Sky & Telescope’s Let’s Go Stargazing flyer or door prizes for your next star party, you can fill out this form.

Event Series (See All)

The Escambia Amateur Astronomer's Association will be hosting public beach gazes for the 50th year, starting with the bicentennial in 1976. We will host Friday and Saturday evening gazes (clear skies permitting) on the first quarter moon weekends. We will set up both optical and digital imaging scopes for viewing and shooting the moon, Jupiter, Venus, and brighter deep sky objects. We hand out current sky maps, and inform novices on how to set up and use their telescopes, and give advice on the new technologies. Admission is free, as it parking at the Pavilion parking lot under the Beach Ball Water Tower.
