Astrophotographer John Goldsmith chronicles his travels during Comet Hale-Bopp's famous apparition 20 years ago. His images capture what ancients might have seen 4,200+ years before.
Dr John Goldsmith is a member of The World at Night, an international network of astrophotographers, and is based in Western Australia. He is an author, researcher, and the creative developer behind Celestial Visions. He has curated the Astrofest Astrophotography exhibition since 2009 and has authored the book “The Universe. Yours to discover.” His PhD thesis “Cosmos, Culture and Landscape” (2014) investigated Australian Aboriginal astronomical knowledge.
