Andrew
I've been an Amateur Astronomer for over 40 years. I have a small SkyShed POD observatory that I've christened "Riverstar Observatory" and do mostly visual observing. I recently completed the Binocular Variable Star Observing Program through the Astronomical League and had a good time doing it. I used various binoculars for these observations from 7x50, 10x50 to 20x80's. I'm looking forward to learning more techniques to accurately judge stellar magnitudes visually. My observatory houses either an Explore Scientific ED152 (6") APO Refractor or a Meade 14" ACF f/10 on an Explore Scientific Losmandy G-11 with PMC-Eight Drive System. Depending on types of observations I'm involved with I'll swap out the OTA's. I've been primarily focused on other Astronomical League Visual Observing Programs during COVID. I play around with iPhone Astrophotography and also have a DSLR, and eventually I'll try DSLR photometry and spectroscopy with the AAVSO too. I currently work as a Marketing Executive for Targus, and in the early 2000's, I was the Product Manager for the ETX Line of Telescopes at Meade Instruments. So I've spent time playing around with a lot of different equipment and ways to be connected with Astronomy. Messier Certificate: May 31st, 1983
