MDAS provides astronomy outreach to the public free of charge at one of the premier viewing locations in the San Francisco Bay Area. In Mount Diablo State Park, our monthly (March to October) star parties feature many telescopes and binoculars provided and operated by our members for your education and enjoyment. We also provide outreach events for organizations located in the San Francisco East Bay cities of Alamo, Antioch, Concord, Clayton, Danville, Dublin, Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Pleasant Hill, Pleasanton, and Walnut Creek, as well as unincorporated areas of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Our members are associated with and have also done outreach with the Espace Academy, other museums, such as Chabot Space and Science Center, Lawrence Hall of Science, and some of great community programs with MDIA, MDOA, East Bay Parks, Muir Heritage Society, Livermore Unit of the National Association of Rocketry (LUNAR), Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venture Scouts, Cub Scouts. Elementary School, Middle School, High School, and College.
