Description:
The clouds parted for about an hour starting at 10 p.m. EDT to reveal a stunning aurora display in the northwest and north. It was visible as soon as I stepped out the door despite the crescent Moon and a streetlight. There were large areas of red and rays were visible up almost to the zenith.
