Description:
At first, I couldn't find the northern lights on the evening of May 10th, 2024, because I was looking to the north. As soon as I looked straight up I saw what looked like a strange cloud forming directly at zenith. In a matter of a few minutes, the entire sky was arcing with aurora. I shot over 3000 images in a time-lapse, and this is my favourite frame. Norse legend holds that the aurora reflects the shields and armour of the Valkyrie, and I can see one flying through the centre of this frame here.
