Description:
Last week's Beaver Full Moon, shot on November 27. There was cloud cover all night in Alpine, but for short periods, the clouds were thin enough to allow imaging. This is integration of a stack of 21 "usable" exposures selected from over 1000 shots through an 85 mm refracting telescope. According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, Algonquin Native American tribes as well as American colonists called the November full moon the Beaver Moon because "this was the time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze, to ensure a supply of warm winter furs."
